Horse Race
Prague racecourse locates in Velka Chuchle. To getting there
you can take a bus from Smichovské nádrazi. Buses
go at least one per hour. For Finnish horse race audience cantering
competitions are just a distant concept, because we don’t
have similar ones. Trotting is more famous than cantering. First
imaginary about canter competitions is probably royal horse race
of Ascot, but it seems that there is a competitions also outside
of England. Because of the opportunity, we have to go and take
a look this wonder.
Grandstand of racecourse is not too big, but neither is also
area of horses. The horses of next race were put in the saddles
in the next of main grandstand building. Horses were put on the
saddles and warmed just next to the main grandstand building where
gamblers could see them and choose their favourite horses for
betting.
Betting
There are two firms that arrange betting in Velka Chuchle. Turf
Praha offers bets with fixed odds where you know the final coefficient
before you make the bet. You can bet e.g. winner or places 1 to
5 and the minimum price for one bet is 50 Kc. The coefficients
were quite good so betting with Turf Praha feels meaningful. Toto
CZ could offer bets to winner, forecast (1st and 2nd in right
order) and trifecta (1st, 2nd and 3rd in right order) and the
minimum price for one bet is 20 Kc. Coefficients could change
as long as race starts, so you can’t now final sum that
you can win beforehand.
The Race
When comes time of start, small jockeys will be raised to the
minimal saddles of hyperactive horses and they will be led to
the racecourse. Luckily none of them dropped down even when horses
jumped and stepped very much. Start of race happens as soon as
they get last horse inside of starting box. The racecourse in
approximately two kilometres long and races are from 1200 meters
to 2400 meter.
After a race, horses from place one to six will come to small
paddock in the middle of the public area. They get a shower and
at the same time their riders takes saddles and goes to weigh,
because the weight of rider and saddle should not be under the
limits. Maybe the race organisation does not want that jockeys
are too thin and small than ski jumpers already are.
Racings are advertised as the happening of the whole family.
Children can make their own races with two small ponies and there
are also playing ground available. Every kind of method to get
more people in the races is important, because at least in these
races there was very few of people. Races in capital should have
more audience
